• Understand LED procedures
• Describe Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) role in classifications of devices
• Explain state regulations as pertaining to scope of practice
• Practice standard precautions and follow Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogens Act and the Hazards Communication Standard
• Use disinfection and sterilization techniques as required by state regulations
• Complete a client consultation form, client medical and lifestyle history, maintain treatment documentation and obtain an informed consent and signed release form
• Identify indications and contraindications for treatment
